Does Bahrain allow adotion/guaridenship of orphans to Muslim adults and how long does the process take? by TTC for 2.5 years Q: Also what if the man can't work because he's a student and will be separated from his wife but his wife has a job and could support the child-will Bahrain let them adopt. I know the process in Saudi Arabia takes 3 months and you don't pay a cent to adopt. Is there any fee in taking guardianship/adopting orphans from Bahrain? Reasons of separation is that wife's college only allows students to study if they are in the USA or one of USA territories.

A: Check with Al-Sanabel Organization for Orphans http://www.alsanabel.org/Telephone 17-344995 Or you can call one of the Islamic societies in bahrain. Good luck

Any American military contractors ever work in Bahrain? by Mike D Q: I am likely going to accept a job in Bahrain very soon. Is there anything fun to do in the Manama area? Is it safe enough to raise a family there (remember I'm a regular old white American guy). Any tips or suggestions about living in Bahrain would be greatly appreciated. I've already worked & lived in Afghanistan for a year, so I know more than most about living abroad.....I just want suggestions about Bahrain specifically.

A: There are alot of Americans in Manama area as it is 5/10Min's from the Base there. Safe - absolutely, women just need to be wise about how they dress - respectful of the Islamic traditions ie. I wouldn't wear shorts or sleeveless T's but regular T's are fine. Advise your family not to be overly friendly with the locals unless they know them real well - they may take it the wrong way (generally their opinion of western women is that we all "hand it out, regularly"). If you have young family members it might be more fun to live in a gated community as they have swimming pools etc that the kids can enjoy (no one used the beaches when we were there). Great shopping facilities both British, American and local street markets. Tonnes of American restaurants most sell alcohol (if they have a license). Good luck, I am sure you will all enjoy your stay - our family had a great time.

Questions about Bahrain and the rights of disabled persons? by Mr. Slav Q: The Kingdom of Bahrain stands out from its Middle Eastern neighbors as one of the countries that defends the rights of people. Therefore... 1. What programs does Bahrain have implemented for those its disabled population? 2. Has Bahrain signed the Convention on the Rights of Disabled Persons?

A: 2. Bahrain signed it June 25, 2007. http://www.un.org/disabilities/countries.asp?id=166#B

What are the medical tests required before entering bahrain under a work visa? by Ashok K Q: I have got my work visa issued today for Bahrain. I want to know if I am required to get any medical tests done prior to my entry into Bahrain? If yes, what are those? Please reply as soon as possible.

A: Medical tests are required if it is your first time in Bahrain. Your employer should direct you to a certain medical provider in your home country. Ask them that question. When you arrive to Bahrain, one of the procedures in getting the RP (REsidence Permit) is to undergo a medical test. It includes, HIV and other blood tests, chest x-ray, and vision test. They only test for contagious diseases like hepatitis and AIDS. Normal illnesses like diabetes, high BP and high cholesterol is not considered as a problem.

What would happen if Bahrain army killed an American journalist? by lisa Q: just wondering what would happen since military are out of control killing people there right now... what would happen if a journalist was killed.. would the country stop supporting the Bahrain or would they just not give a crap?

A: it could harm U.S.-Bahraini relations

Bahrain: what vegetable dish to people eat with a main course in Bahrain? by more_brains_than_brawn Q: I'm trying to make an entire meal from every country in the world, and this week is Bahrain. I'm planning on making Chicken Machboos for the main course, but I don't know what veggies to serve with it. Is there a traditional salad in Bahrain, or a cooked vegetable or dish they might serve there with something like what I'm going to attempt? Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if you can point me to a recipe for it, that would be even better. Thank you.

A: u can make something called fatoush or tabola or just any salad really ;)

BAHRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? by Menjiii01 Q: I'm moving there, tell me what you know. Thanksssss ^^ How much is the average wage there? And also i do appreciate all answer but I am a muslim alhumdullah so the banning of pork and alcohol isnt really a problem for me ;)

A: Your question is very general, I will give you some Information, for more details just search the internet or perhaps go to www.wikipedia.org and search for BAHRAIN. We are a small country located in the Arabian Gulf. We are one of 6 countries known as the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the other members are: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates & Oman. Our currency is Bahraini Dinar (BD). 1 US dollar equals to BD0.378, and this rate is fixed as the BD is pegged to the dollar. The weather in Bahrain can reach to 50C degrees in the summer, but the weather from October to March is pleasant. The people are very friendly and nice and majority can communicate in English. Arab is is the first language though, and all can speak it. There are nice shopping malls in Bahrain, mainly the City Centre, Seef Mall & A'ali shopping complex. There are water parks, theme parks and nice traditional souks. Bahrain is known for jewelery, you can find nice jewelery, mainly gold hand crafted and amazing designs. Life in Bahrain is not very expensive, although accommodation can be pretty expensive. Transportation is cheap, and fuel also. Health care in Bahrain is good, better than most of the GCC countries anyway. There are many expatriates in Bahrain, so whatever nationality you are, you will feel right at home. WELCOME TO BAHRAIN

Bahrain .....? by Silent tear Q: I would appreciate if some one from Bahrain can provide me with the following information : 1- Is there “New York University in Bahrain , if so what is the website , I want to see if they offer Master in Communication. 2- Is there dentistry school in Bahrain ..i want to see if possible to do specialization there

A: There is no full pledge University with the name New York University in Bahrain that I'm aware of. Basically, you can find all registered universities in Bahrain under the Bahraini Ministry of Education Website. For master's Degree in Communication, two known universities in Bahrain are presently offering Master's Degree in Mass Communication & Public Relations (MSMP)that I'm aware of, they are the GULF University and the AHLIA University. There is no known nor existing university in Bahrain that offers courses leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Dentristry or Dental Medicine.
