What are the major difference between Mozart's work and Brahms' work? by Sandra P
Q: I noticed that Mozart's Quartet for Piano and Strings in E-flat Major, K 493 and Brahms's Quartet for Piano and Strings in c-minor, Opus 60 both used only piano, violin, viola and cello to preformed the piece.
What is the difference between those two pieces? Besides one is in major the other one is in minor.
How was the Mozart quartet consider "classical"?
and what style was the Brahms?
A: A period of approximately ninety years separates the two works.
Mozart's appearing in 1786 at the height of the Viennese Classical period and after a long gestation period, the Brahms was published in it's revised form in 1875.
In style and feeling it would belong in the Romantic period although Brahms never strayed too far from the Classical ideal.

How long would it take to learn a Mozart flute concerto? by Christine ♥
Q: Can I learn it in a year? I've never played flute before, but I can play Mozart's 3rd and 4th violin concertos on the violin.
A: No, you cannot learn this in a year. He wrote 2 (not counting the flute and harp concerto) - a D major, that is really a transcription of an oboe concerto, and a G major. The flexibility of embouchure and the facility of fingers and articulation cannot possibly be learned in one year - assuming so is an insult to fine flutists who have spend many years building the technique needed. And then of course there is the issue of style and musicianship. The D major also begins with a VERY long note, followed by the rest of the phrase - your tone control and breathing are critical from the beginning. And you did not even mention possibilities of cadenzas. As a NYSSMA judge, I will hear several hundred flutist of various levels play each weekend this Spring - we have already begun, and I have judging almost every weekend until June. Yes, I will hear each of these a few times - and most of the performances, based on what I have heard in previous years, will be by kids who thought they could somehow plow or slobber thru the *notes* and thus vomit it out for a judge to hear, long before they were technically ready, or musically mature. Have you played the violin concerti for adjudication? And did you get top scores?
How did Mozart’s childhood influence his adulthood and his achievements? by shades
Q: I know that Mozart was a child prodigy and a social outcast, but how did this affect his adult life and his accomplishments later on? Thanks
A: This sounds suspiciously like an essay prompt. You aren't trying to get someone else to do your work for you, are you?
How many ways are there to listen first to a Mozart piano concerto and then to a symphony? by
Q: Mozart wrote 27 piano concertos and 41 symphonies. How many ways are there to listen first to a Mozart piano concerto and then to a symphony?
A: to figure out how many ways there are you can multiply 27 and 41 to find it out.
So, 27x41= 1107.
Therefore, there are 1107 ways to listen first to a Mozart piano concerto and then to a symphony.
How much truth is there to the Mozart effect? by Drinking is the Devil!
Q: I have a niece/nephew on the way and I want to encourage the listening to classical music. But if listening to Mozart makes the kid smarter so much the better. Any experience from you out there?
TY Nick,
Yeah not much benefit in bursting young ear drums on "musical noise pollution." No offense to those that listen to radical rock.
A: Listening to any classical music will not make you smarter. The Mozart theory is just a myth. But there's nothing wrong with exposing your niece/nephew to music that is much more beautiful then most mainstream music today.
How can writing an essay about Mozart's life be informational to singers? by Connormichael
Q: Also is there a good, organized website where it tells all about Mozart's that someone could link me to?
Or information I need to know about him...
But make sure you answer the big question, if possible.
Easy ten points, I'll choose best answer.
A: Watch the movie Amadeus. It's about Mozart's life. Very popular/famous movie.

His life can be informational to singers because he had a lot of self-dissatisfaction with himself and discouragement from others and his is now one of the "greats" in history. He also studied other composers compulsively, learning from others. He had lots of personal trauma in his life, and this would interfere with his musical drive and talent.
What Mozart songs are preferably listened to prior to taking a test? by Kakarot
Q: I've heard listening to Mozart songs before taking a test result in better test scores. Any recommendations?
A: That is absolute nonsense... the only thing that helps is knowing the material on the test.
Why do people compare Beethoven with Mozart if they both were actually very different? by The World Is Not Enough
Q: Mozart was from the classic era while Beethoven was mostly from the romantic era? Isn't this like comparing apples to oranges?
A: THANK YOU! I ask myself this every time I see these ridiculous 'which is better?' or 'who do you prefer?' questions. As suhwahaksaeng says, it's comparing apples and oranges.
What does it matter anyway? I wish (oh, how I wish!) people could just accept each composer for his or her own merits and the music they composed, rather than feeling the need to ask 'who is best?'
Thanks for asking this, but I doubt it will stem the flow of brainless questions in this section.
What is Bach and Mozart's most famous pieces and compositions that every listener should know? by pink_memories
Q: Make the list as long as you like, but i only want the most famous ones which everyone should know. Like Mozart's 40th symphony and Bach's Air on a G string, Toccata & Fugue and Partitia in E.
A: So you're looking for a "greates hits" list type o' thing, eh?
Mozart
Symphonies #40 and #41 "Jupiter" -- I think 35, 38 should be added
Overture to "Le Nozze de Figaro", overture to "Don Giovanni"
Piano concerto in C #21 (with the famous "Elvira Madigan" theme in the second mvt.)
"Eine Kleine Nachtmusik"
Piano sonata K545 "Sonata Facile"
"Lacrimosa" from the Requiem (Ithink the whole thing should be a greatest hit)
"Rondo alla Turka" from the A major sonata K 331
Bach:
The 3rd and 4th Brandenburg conertos
"Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring"
Prelude #1 from the Well Tempered Clavier Book 1
Prelude and Fugue #2 from the same
Prelude from Cello suite #1
Chaconne from Violin partita #5
Goldberg Variations
Now in my opinion what you should have is a much longer list -- but I'm limiting myself to the "greatest hits" category. Others will add things that I overlooked I am sure.

Mozart....? by Taylor :D
Q: Okay, so please write a BREIF summary about the opera Inomeneno by Mozart then write a paragraph on a movie today that has the same story line.
Thanks.
(:
A: Homework, huh?
The opera is in fact called "Idomeneo", not "Inomeneno". Here's what you want.
