4chan

4chan is an anonymous English-language imageboard founded by Christopher Poole in 2003. The site was originally created as an English counterpart to Japanese imageboard Futaba Channel, also known as 2chan. 4chan's first boards were created for posting images and discussion related to anime. As of October 2019, the site hosts 72 public boards dedicated to a wide variety of topics, from anime and manga to video games, music, literature, fitness, politics, and sports, among others. Registration is not possible and users generally post anonymously, with threads receiving recent replies being "bumped" to the top of their respective board, and old threads being automatically deleted as new threads are created. 4chan receives more than 27 million unique monthly visitors, with approximately 800,000 posts made daily.
