Deb Fischer

Debra Lynelle Strobel Fischer is an American politician serving as a United States Senator from Nebraska since 2013. She was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012 and was re-elected in 2018. Prior to her Senate tenure, Fischer served two terms in the Nebraska Legislature, representing a rural district in the Sandhills from 2005 to 2013. Fischer is a member of the Republican Party, is the first woman elected to a full term as a U.S. senator from Nebraska, and is the senior U.S. senator from Nebraska.
